Write for us

Modern News Compass welcomes pitches that help readers examine how news claims are built, supported, framed and understood. A strong proposal is focused, explainable and useful beyond one passing headline.

What to propose

We consider clear explainers about sourcing, evidence, headline language, context and uncertainty. Proposals should have a distinct central question and show what a reader will understand after reading. Prefer evergreen ideas that do not depend on unverified claims, private information or a single fast-moving story.

A good pitch

Send a short summary of the proposed argument, why it matters to general readers and the key sources or examples you would use. Explain any relevant perspective or connection that could affect the work. Do not send confidential material or assume that a pitch is commissioned.

Where to send it

Send proposals through the Contact page and select the editorial question option, noting that your message is a pitch. We will review submissions for fit, clarity and evidential grounding; sending a proposal does not guarantee publication.
